The consortium of UAB “Terra IT”, UAB “Synergy Effect” and Vilnius University is implementing the project “Development of innovative digital technological solutions using 5G communication technologies” No. 08-004-K-0012
The project aims to create 2 innovative digital technological solutions using 5G communication technologies: an automated solution for collecting data and extracting information from it, adapted to the logistics problem area, to make logistics processes more efficient and optimize them; and an automated solution for monitoring remote logistics systems, which will enable monitoring with minimal human intervention of remote logistics systems (warehousing and distribution centers, vehicle parking lots, individual vehicles, etc.) where it is not cost-effective to install fixed ground-based monitoring systems.
The fully developed automated solution for collecting data and extracting information from it will make it possible for logistics companies to reduce human errors, the working time spent processing inquiries and the losses/costs caused by errors, and to increase response speed and accuracy, productivity and service quality. The automated solution for monitoring remote logistics systems will make it possible to get accurate information about the situation in real time and avoid unnecessary call-outs; accordingly, call-out operation costs and the need for human resources will decrease, and there will be a positive environmental impact as vehicle operating costs fall.
Introducing transport innovations is a very important step towards optimizing all kinds of transport across Europe. The innovative digital technological solutions planned in the project to make logistics processes more efficient and optimize them are expected to be successfully integrated into the European Union transport market.
The project is planned to be implemented over 24 months. Project start: 2024-01-01. Project end: 2025-12-31. Project value: EUR 1,167,217.51. Funding allocated to the project: EUR 776,752.97.
